Barbara Mis Kelly

Barbara Mis Kelly is the author of three children's books inspired by her grandchildren. Her latest book, "Is It Chocolate?" tells the story of a little boy who loves chocolate more than anything else in the world and can even smell wrapped and boxed chocolate from across the room!

Barbara grew up in Chicago and has always been passionate about books, reading, and writing poetry. She earned her BA from the University of Illinois and a Masters in Government from Georgetown University. Barbara taught high school government and history classes for several years. Later, while raising her family, she volunteered actively in her community, church, and schools. Barbara was the Development Director for a parochial school in Orange, CA, for 14 years. She then moved to Indiana to work at the University of Notre Dame, where she created a program for parents.
After retiring, Barbara began a new chapter by opening Baba Books LLC and self-publishing "Let's Go to Church!", an ABC book for children to take to Mass. The book's illustrations were created by children in grades 3-8, making it even more intriguing for children to read.

Barbara's grandchildren inspired her following two books. "I'm Too Full!" is about a smart and creative little girl who eats healthy food. The book has a wonderful message for parents and children about eating nutritious foods. The delightful illustrations show the little girl actively involved in many endeavors.
"Is It Chocolate?" is Barbara's third book, about a little boy who loves chocolate more than anything else. He can even smell wrapped chocolate from another room! The illustrations in the book are beautifully whimsical.
